Dear valued patients,
During this challenging times with the Coronavirus pandemic, we would like to give assurance that the team of specialists at Medplus SA will continue to provide essential medical care to those who need it, and our practice opening hours remain the same.
We understand that everyone has concerns regarding the spread of this virus, and we have taken additional measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff at Medplus SA. Some of those measures include increasing our regular and thorough cleaning of common areas such as our waiting room, chairs, and front desk with disinfectants, setting up our waiting room to maintain physical distancing, as well as removal of magazines to ensure minimal risk of cross contamination between patients. We are also implementing a remote check in system, where patients can call or SMS us (through reply to your appointment sms reminder that we sent on your mobile) when you arrive in the car park, and our staff or doctor will call you to come directly into our consulting room. This is another way to minimise your contact with other patients, as physical distancing is the best prevention. We will aim to update you as further measures are implemented.
Please do your part and let us know if you are you are unwell with fever or respiratory symptoms; have a returned traveller in your household (either yourself or visitors) from overseas or interstate during the last 4 weeks; been in contract with someone who tested positive for Coronavirus, or are in self-isolation.
If you have answer yes to any of our COVID – 19 screening questionnaire, it is important that you contact us to reschedule your appointment or make alternative arrangements, which may include a review appointment over video conferencing or telephone (refer to as Telehealth Consultation). This new option has been made available for metropolitan patients by the Australian government from March until 30 September, and a gap fee applies from 20 April.
There are significant limitations in seeing new patients over a video or telephone appointment, as we are unable to examine patient properly. Similarly, there are also occasions where we need to arrange for review patients to come into see doctors at Medplus, if there are issues which can not be resolved over the Telehealth Consultation.
We understand these are challenging and unprecedented times, and appreciate your understanding and patience. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone or email.
Thank you for your cooperation.
From the team at Medplus SA
